This is the same checklist Voxelio uses when we oversee AI vendors and agencies for clients. Three rules sit behind it: get it in writing, test it before you pay for it, and make sure you own it.

Honest about its limits
It reviews only what's in the documents you give it. It won't invent numbers, can't check the vendor's references, and never contacts anyone. You make the decision.
Private by design
It runs inside your own Claude account. The skill is plain written instructions (no code, nothing sent to us or anyone else), so you can read every line before you install it.
How to install (about 2 minutes).
- Go to claude.ai and sign in. Skills work on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans.
- Open Settings → Capabilities and make sure Code execution and file creation is turned on. Menu names may differ slightly on your plan or app version.
- Go to Customize → Skills (on older versions: Settings → Capabilities → Skills).
- Click + → Upload a skill and choose ai-vendor-check.zip. Don't unzip it first.
- Make sure AI Vendor Check is switched on in your skills list.
Use it
Start a new chat, upload the proposal (PDF, Word or a pasted copy) and ask something like “Check this AI vendor proposal before we sign.” Claude picks the skill up on its own; if it doesn't, say “use the AI Vendor Check skill”. Upload every document the vendor sent (terms, pricing sheet) for a fair score.

It's AI and can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important, and you make the decision.
